no cavities.
aren't you proud?!
i sure thought so.
this was my first dentist visit in almost 2 years... and i eat more ice cream than anyone i know, so i just knew that i had at least one cavity. as it turns out, my dental hygiene is 'impeccable.' no, really. the dentist said so. i'm a champion brusher & flosser. i was even offered a new toothbrush and a huge magnet with a calendar and a big, toothy grin printed on it.
things have definitely changed since my last dentist visit... or at least this dentist was less ghetto than my last two dentists. i can't even begin to tell you how afraid i was of my last two dentists - one in tucson, one in phoenix. seriously, this dentist showed me my x-rays on a computer screen. who even knew that was possible?! plus, instead of using the little scraper, he had this high powered water gun that he used to clean my teeth... very strange to say the least. the worst part about it was that by the time the dentist was done, my face was soaked with water and saliva.
ew.
but i have no cavities, and i'm a tooth-care-taking rock star!

i am sooooo proud sister! although disappointed that you waited 2 years to go to the dentist! tsk tsk. good thing you have impecible teeth cleaning skills :) now if only i could get myself to floss more... ugh.
This is laugh out loud funny. Not only did you call your mommy, but you called your sister to give the update. I know I will still be getting these calls when I am 90. So proud of you. Gold star for Steph!
I cannot deny that I am just a little afraid of those photos.
But I am just proud as punch of you and your rock-star teeth-cleaning ways.
Except ... I have to question how much actual rock-stars are the ultimate models of dental hygiene.
Congratulations on your dental accomplishment!! I am sure Crest will be calling with a commercial opportunity anytime now (or maybe BF on their new "soft serve makes hard teeth" campaign)
But I would still watch out for anyone looking like Steve Martin who might be hanging around the venus flytrap at the Botanical Gardens. I got so distracted with the Japanese and Rose Gardens that I forgot all about wanting to see the "Wicked Plants" display. Maybe next trip.
i really like that someone actually checked the box 'cool' under this post... 'funny' is checked too, but i tend to have a ridiculous sense of humor, and this is kind of a ridiculous post, so i'll take 'funny'...
but 'cool?' i'm not so sure about that one. who checked it and why? i must know.
p.s. i tried to get rid of those boxes b/c it looks like i'm soliciting kudos, but i can't figure out how, and now i've grown accustomed to the kudos, so please keep them coming.
very cool you have great teeth... but those pictures are a little scary :-)
Congratulations! I hate seeing my dentist too, even though he is a nice guy and explains everything he does to me. Ever had your teeth saltblasted? That is a mess! And one of the few moments I am glad to wear glasses ;o)
Giving up smoking reduced the visits for professional dental cleaning a lot. Another good reason to quit!!! BTW a year and 6 days today...
another michael - yay for quitting smoking! every day matters :)
