time out!

in the midst of all things crazy, a few moments of serious awesomeness come shining through... i would like to share.

  1. paul's parents visited us. we had a marvelous time and ate some seriously delicious grub.

  2. my work approved the budget for me to take a continuing education class at nyu - using public relations as a marketing tool. sounds awesome to me!

  3. we have 0 plans this weekend. seems insane to think, but i'm really excited!

  4. a saved by the bell reunion?! it appears that all of my dreams may come true. if you have any love for sbtb, you really must watch the video...

I am proud and honored that news of our visit and news of this much anticipated, globally significant reunion came in the same post.

You guys are the BEST. You know where all the BEST food is in NYC and you definitely cook the BEST cookies.

We miss you more than you will know.

Kudos on getting the public relations class approved. I think PR is absolutely a great field for you--your combination of communication skills (oral, written, and visual), empathy, gut instincts, insight into different audiences' mindsets, and the ability to be creative while staying politically correct is extraordinary and so superior to so many ads, plans, and programs I see that leave me scratching my head and saying to myself "what were they thinking?"

Thanks for being such wonderful hosts--the places, directions, suggestions, and food were wonderful, though we now know the insiders' dirty little secret--the best food in New York is prepared in modern little apartment in Brooklyn. The bagels, soup dumplings, coal fired pizza, deli sandwiches, and Coney Island dogs couldn't have been better or more New York, and we all know the best ice cream brand, but none of them match the food or ambience at the place serving up the Mac & Jack and PBCC cookies. Worth the trip out the S line even if you have to take a bus.

Melissa is right--fishy picture IS cool. How did the ones come out you took with us?

Also, while I am sorry we didn't get to the Shake Shack and don't have that for comparison--so little time, so much to eat--I did forget to mention that notwithstanding aged steaks I could cut with a fork and melt in the mouth prime rib, the hamburger patty at Burger Joint (not to mention the great secret location/hole in the wall ambience) was one of the most succulent red meat experiences of my life.
